Human-Centered Leadership & Care-Centered Innovation

A little about me

I’m an award-winning founder, speaker, facilitator, and certified coach exploring what it means to lead, build, and innovate with humanity at the center.

As the Founder and CEO of Exhale, an inclusive well-being app centering Black women’s mental and emotional well-being, I’ve built a platform rooted in care, culture, and emotional sustainability. My work sits at the intersection of leadership, technology, community, and well-being—inviting organizations and individuals to rethink success, impact, and the role care plays in shaping the future.

Through keynotes, facilitation, coaching, and conversation, I speak on human-centered leadership, care-centered innovation, burnout, entrepreneurship, and building meaningful work without losing ourselves in the process.

My work has been recognized by the NBA Foundation, The Webby Awards, MIT Solve, and Apple’s App of the Day, and featured by platforms including Forbes, Essence, and Goop.

At the core of everything I do is a belief that care is not separate from innovation or leadership—but essential to how we build sustainable organizations, communities, and lives.

Check out my app, Exhale

Exhale is an inclusive mental and emotional well-being app centering Black women and supporting the unique stressors we navigate every day. Rooted in culture, breath, and care, Exhale offers a space to pause, reconnect, and return to yourself.

Through meditations, breathwork, affirmations, and calming sounds, the app provides accessible well-being practices in five-, ten-, and fifteen-minute experiences designed to support real life and real schedules.

More than a wellness app, Exhale is a space where Black women can feel seen, supported, and cared for—while offering grounding and healing practices that resonate with anyone seeking balance, restoration, and emotional well-being.

We are no longer waiting to exhale.

Ready to Exhale Podcast

Ready to Exhale is a space for honest conversations about well-being, leadership, healing, and what it means to be human.

Hosted by Katara McCarty, the podcast centers the voices, stories, and lived experiences of Black women while exploring the ways we care for ourselves, move through the world, and continue building meaningful lives and communities.

Through thoughtful conversations with leaders, founders, healers, and visionaries, Ready to Exhale offers moments of reflection, joy, vulnerability, and breath—reminding us that care is not something we have to earn.

We are no longer waiting to exhale.
